Hair Color Precautions
There’s nothing worse than spending a lot of money on
coloring your hair and then suffering from mistreating it.
Here are a few things to keep in mind when coloring your
hair:
- 1.Sunscreens in shampoo, conditioners, and styling
products help preserve the richness of hair color, while some dandruff shampoos
will fade hair color.
- 2.Never color your hair when your scalp is squeaky
clean, or you risk burning your scalp. The best time to color hair is a day or
two after shampooing. If you do have excess product buildup on your ends the
day you are going to have it colored, wash the ends thoroughly without
scrubbing the scalp.
- 3.Make sure all hairspray and gel are washed out
of your hair really well before coloring your hair. If you try to color hair
with some styling product in it, you can end up with unattractive, uneven
blotches.
- 4.Even if it looks wonderful, remember that
colored-treated hair is damaged hair and, as such, should be handled with care
and conditioned regularly. Use milder products or those specifically developed
for color-treated hair.
